  • Laptop randomly shuts down without warning.
  • Battery does not get charged.
  • Laptop appears dead when the adapter is plugged in, with no LED activity.

Liquid Spills

If you spill anything on your laptop you should stop using it straight away.

  • Turn off your laptop straight away (hold down the power button until the laptop turns off)
  • Unplug the power adapter
  • Remove the battery
  • Use kitchen towel to soak up liquid
  • Stand the laptop on its edge like a book and allow to drain
  • Leave to air dry somewhere warm for 2-3 days

Your laptop may need disassembling and further cleaning to prevent oxidation or corrosion. If your laptop does not work following these procedures then data recovery may be your final option. This service starts from £60.00

Tips & Advice

Connect your laptop to an external monitor with a 15 pin male to male VGA cable to confirm the fault is with the laptop screen.

Many TVs have a VGA port that you can connect to if you do not have a monitor.
